SCSC pursues its objectives through the following core programs and services:

	Life skills orientation
	Job search and placement
	Family Wellness Training
	Family Crisis intervention
	After-school Tutoring
	Homework Assistance and mentoring
	Computer literacy
	Legal Aide referrals
	Seamstress Training
	Housing Assistance and advocacy
	Energy and rental assistance referral
	Shelter Referrals for domestic violence victims
	Translation Services to Somali people for refugee and social service organizations and area hospitals, shelters, County courts and schools.

	Cross cultural understanding between service providers and the community
	Home visitations for families participating in projects and family crisis intervention
	Immigration assistance: helping individuals and families complete required immigration forms
	Financial Aid and scholarship information for students: assisting students with FAFSA applications and helping them find scholarships that they can qualify for
	School registration information; SCSC collaborates with Portland Public Schools welcome centers to enroll new students in their neighborhood schools.
